In his home kitchen, Chef Michael Cimarusti of in Los Angeles, creates a space that is functional, beautiful and full of personal touches
Michael Cimarusti, owner and chef of Providence Restaurant on Melrose in Los Angeles, his wife Crisi Echiverri, a former pastry chef and current co-owner of Providence and their two children, moved into this South Pasadena home in 2007. The house — and especially the kitchen — have gone through several renovations to accommodate the family’s needs. Susan Masterman, a local specialist in historic homes, oversaw the latest reworking that expanded the kitchen to the fullest extent possible while remaining within the boundaries of the 1912 Craftsman's original footprint. "We wanted a kitchen that gave us the ability to entertain," says Cimarusti, "and have the kids come in and cook with us, and friends. It's where everyone always ends up."
